Black Candles
You have the setting in mind before the candle: a dark tabletop, a dinner lit low, a shop counter, a present for someone whose home runs to dark tones. Black is in all of these. On several it shares the candle with a second colour, and the name tells you which — Relief Candle MARIE Pink-Black, Round Logo Candle USK Akademik Black-White.
The shapes have little else in common. There is a boat with the Loket logo on it, reliefs sculpted and modelled by hand, a prism, a sphere, pillars, and a collection that comes in several sizes at once. Each one is a paraffin wax blend, made by hand here in Královské Poříčí — made by us, which also means anything not right with one gets sorted out with us directly.
Then the scent. Black lily is the floral-woody one, Sakura is built on cherry blossom, Vanilla runs to creamy undertones, and Green apple keeps the delicate tartness of the fruit; Vanilla-wild strawberry and Euphoria are here too, the second putting flowers, fruity tones and a drop of amber together. How long one burns varies a great deal from candle to candle, so settle that alongside the shape rather than after it. Measure the spot too: Relief Candle Love Black & White stands 40 cm, which rules out most shelves — floor space beside a chair, or an empty stretch of sideboard.
What each one measures and how many hours it carries
Work out the surface first. Small Pillar Candle Black Lily - SVITSOL | Handmade and Pillar Candle Sokolov | SVITSOL both stand 7 cm on a 3.5 cm width at 0.07 Kg, rated 9-12 hours, and nothing else here weighs less. Tall Slim Pillar Candle Black Lily SVITSOL - Handmade holds that 3.5 cm width and goes to 12 cm, 0.13 Kg, 18-24 hours — a candle for a shelf too narrow to rearrange.
Height tells you little about the hours. Boat-Shaped Candle with Loket Logo is 11 cm and 0.17 Kg, with 7-10 hours on it, a shorter rating at both ends than the small pillars. Relief Candle Rose Black – Hand-Sculpted, Black Lily, Kralovske Porici stands 9 cm at 0.15 Kg for 12-21 hours, and the middle is broader than the base — 3.5 cm at the bottom, 7 cm at the middle — so judge the room it needs by the middle. Prism Candle 5 is 19 cm over a 5x5 cm base at 0.41 Kg, rated 19-33 hours; that square base wants the middle of a table, not its edge.

Shorten the wick before every lighting, the very first one included. That opening burn needs long enough for the melted wax to reach the full width of the candle; cut it short and the flame will burrow down the middle and stay there. Underneath, something level that heat cannot spoil. Keep moving air away from it, never leave one alight when you leave the room, and keep the lit ones out of reach of children and animals.
