Green apple Scented Candles
A kitchen half an hour after lunch, a bathroom shelf, a desk by a window left open — a fresh apple note does most of its work in rooms that have just been used. Green apple is written into every candle you see here. On some of them a second scent sits beside it: Cucumber freshness, Euphoria, Choco-coffee-cinnamon or Vanilla-orange. Which one that is you will find in the candle’s own name, so read the whole of it. Apple on its own and apple alongside chocolate, coffee and cinnamon are not the same evening.
Shapes are another matter entirely: a moon butterfly, relief roses, a plain pillar, prisms, a pyramid rocket, spheres, a standing triangle and a round wedding candle with stones. The wax underneath does not change — a paraffin wax blend, whichever outline you pick. We make every one of them by hand in Královské Poříčí.
Start from the place, not from the picture. A slim relief candle can stand between plates at dinner without getting in the way of the conversation; a wide sphere is better off on a plate of its own, with room around it. The tall ones belong to the room rather than to one meal.
Same weight, different hours: how to read the sizes
Two of these weigh 0.2 Kg each and yet they are rated worlds apart. Isosceles Triangle Candle 1 stands 22 cm and is rated 6-13 hours; Medium Pillar Candle, shorter at 12 cm, runs 27-36 hours. Decide on the hours you want, then see which shape carries them.
Two heights come round twice here, and each time the numbers part company:
- Relief Candle MARIE Signal Green — 16 cm tall, 4 cm across, 0.27 Kg, 28-39 hours.
- Relief Candle LESUPAN Green — 16 cm again, on a 9x5 cm base, 0.35 Kg, 29-39 hours.
- Pyramid Candle Rocket 4 — 19 cm, 9 cm across, 0.26 Kg, 19-29 hours.
- Prism Candle 2 — 19 cm as well, on 5x5 cm, 0.41 Kg, 19-33 hours.
For an evening that ends when the meal does, Candle Moon Butterfly green is 5 cm, 0.17 Kg, rated 2-13 hours. The pair of relief roses, Relief Candle ROSE Green and Relief Candle ROSE Blue-Green, stand 9 cm on 3.5 bottom + 7 middle cm, weigh 0.15 Kg and are rated 12-21 hours. At the other end, Prism Candle Sunray 5 stands 14 cm, measures 6.5 cm across, weighs 0.46 Kg and is rated 45-75 hours, while Large Sphere Candle Green-Speckled, 0.74 Kg and 12 cm across, is rated 72-96 hours — nothing else here matches that.
Wide tops are the ones to think about before the first match. Round Wedding Candle with Stones 1 sits 14 cm wide, weighs 0.18 Kg and is rated 6-13 hours; Sphere Candle Relief Waves Green, 0,195 Kg on a 7.5 cm face, is rated 15-30 hours. Give a candle like that enough time on its opening burn for the melted wax to reach the rim all the way round — cut it short and the flame digs itself a narrow shaft. The rest is habit: shorten the wick before every lighting, stand it on something flat that will not burn, keep it clear of moving air, and stay in the room while it is lit, children and pets at a distance.
