Triangle Candles
Geometric Candles – Triangle Shapes Handmade in Bohemia
A geometric candle in triangular form belongs to the most stable shapes you can put on a table. The triangle holds its silhouette from the first burn to the last, which is exactly why we pour them in Královské Poříčí. Architects use the triangle for bridges, roofers for rooftops, and we use it for candles that won't tip, won't roll, and won't disappear into the background of your room.
Each piece is poured by hand. No machines pressing wax into a mould – just a candle maker, a ladle, and a wick set precisely at the centre of gravity so the flame stays where it should.
Why a triangle works as a geometric candle
Most candles are cylinders. They roll, they look the same from every angle, and they disappear among the other objects on the shelf. The triangle does the opposite – it has three faces, three edges, three corners, and every rotation gives you a different view.
Three reasons people keep coming back for triangular geometric candles:
- Stability. Wide base, low centre of gravity. It stays put on a wooden table, a stone shelf, or a windowsill.
- Visual weight. A triangle reads as architecture, not decoration. It looks intentional.
- Shadow play. Three flat sides throw three distinct shadow patterns on the wall when lit.
The symbolism behind the shape
The number three runs through almost everything: past–present–future, body–mind–soul, mother–father–child. A geometric candle in triangular form carries that meaning without anyone having to explain it.
You don't need a deeper meaning to enjoy a triangle on the table. But it's there if you want it.
Our range of geometric triangle candles
Equilateral triangles
Mini (7 cm side): fits between books on a shelf
Medium (15 cm): the classic dinner-table size
Large (25 cm): a standalone statement piece
Giant (40 cm): made to order
Tall triangles
Taller than wide. The proportions read like small mountains – more dramatic, more sculptural. Good for entryways and console tables where you want vertical presence.
Special editions
- 3D colour: each of the three sides poured in a different shade
- Striped: horizontal bands with a retro feel
- Galaxy: deep black with fine glitter
- Ombre: gradient from dark base to lighter top
- Set of three sizes: small, medium, large – grouped together they work as an installation
Materials and craft
We pour our geometric candles from a paraffin wax blend without palm oil. The wick is cotton, the dye is candle-grade pigment, and the scent (when present) is added during the pour, not sprayed on afterwards.
Nothing about a triangle is harder to pour than a cylinder – but it is less forgiving. A bubble in a cylinder hides. A bubble on a flat triangle face shows. So we pour slowly, in stages, and we throw away the ones that don't sit right.
How to burn a triangular candle properly
- Place it on a flat surface. A triangle on a tilted table is a problem.
- First burn long enough for the entire top layer to liquefy. This prevents tunnelling.
- Keep the wick trimmed to roughly 5–7 mm. Longer wicks smoke.
- Use a plate underneath. The candle is stable, but wax is wax.
- Rotate the candle 120° after each use – one full turn over three sessions. The burn stays even.
Custom orders
Special requests – custom scent, custom colour, engraved name or date on one face, corporate edition with a logo – usually take about a week from order to dispatch. Phone 723 913 541 or e-mail info@svitsol.cz.
A triangle won't suit every room. But in the right one, a geometric candle stops being decoration and starts being part of the architecture.
Frequently Asked Questions
What are SVITSOL geometric candles made of?
The base is a paraffin wax blend without palm oil. Wicks are cotton, colours come from wax-soluble pigments, and fragrances are added in small batches. Every triangle candle is poured, trimmed, and inspected by hand in our Královské Poříčí workshop.
Will a triangle candle keep its sharp shape while burning?
Yes, as long as you treat it right. The wick sits at the candle's centre of gravity, so the flame stays put and the silhouette holds. Let the first burn melt the whole top layer to prevent tunnelling, and rotate the candle by 120° after each session so all three sides burn down evenly.
What sizes do the triangle candles come in?
Equilateral triangles run from Mini with a 7 cm side, through Medium at 15 cm, to Large at 25 cm. The Giant at 40 cm is made to order. We also pour tall triangles, which suit narrow shelves and window ledges.
Can I order a custom colour, scent, or size?
Yes. Custom colours, scents, or dimensions take roughly a week to produce. Call 723 913 541 or write to info@svitsol.cz with the size, colour, and scent you want, and we will pour it for you.
How do I burn a geometric candle properly?
Place it on a flat surface with a plate or tray underneath, and trim the wick to 5–7 mm before each lighting so it does not soot. On the first burn, keep it lit long enough for the entire top layer to melt. After each session, rotate the candle by 120° for an even burn across all three sides.
Is a triangle candle stable enough for a shelf or dining table?
The triangle is the most stable shape in geometry, and our candles use it the same way builders use roof trusses: wide base, low centre of gravity. It will not tip if a cat brushes past. We still recommend a plate underneath, because wax behaves the way wax behaves.
Do you make triangle candles as corporate gifts?
We do. Custom production takes roughly a week; contact us at info@svitsol.cz to discuss the details.
What special editions of geometric candles are available?
Beyond single-colour triangles, we cast a 3D effect edition with each face in a different colour, a striped version with horizontal bands, Galaxy in deep black with mica flecks, and Ombre with a gradient from dark base to light tip. There is also a set of three sizes that forms a complete arrangement on its own.
