SNOWMAN WITH TOP HAT candle – icy green glitter

A hand-cast candle in the shape of a snowman, 8 cm tall and weighing 72 grams. Made from a paraffin wax blend with a cotton wick; burn time 8–15 hours depending on room conditions. White with an icy green layer and glitter, vanilla-apple scent. Every piece is made on the farm in Královské Poříčí in the Karlovy Vary Region.

The snowman in a top hat is cast in molds we keep on the farm. The icy green glitter catches the flame and creates tiny sparkles on the wax surface. The scent of vanilla with sweet apple unfolds after about twenty minutes of burning and fills a medium-sized room – it is not sharp, but stays in the realm of home baking.

What the candle brings to your interior

The snowman with a top hat is a decoration for the Christmas Eve table, a windowsill or a living room shelf. At a compact 8 cm tall, it also fits smaller candle holders and arrangements. For the best overall effect, we recommend placing three pieces side by side on a non-flammable surface – the glitter reflects between them and forms a compact point of light.

The wax blend burns cleanly, without smoke or soot. If you let the candle burn for two to three hours at a time, an even wax pool forms across the whole width, the scent is released slowly and the wax does not run down the side. After extinguishing, trim the wick to 5–7 mm to extend the life of the candle.

When to light it

The candle suits Advent Sundays, the Christmas Eve table, family get-togethers or an evening cup of tea. The snowman shape amuses children, and the vanilla-apple scent goes with traditional Christmas baking – vanilla crescents, apple strudel, gingerbread. As a gift, it works for colleagues, neighbors and grandparents; wrapped in tissue paper with a bow, it keeps its shape without any problem even in a postal box.

Made on the farm in Královské Poříčí

We warm the wax in kettles on the farm, pour it into metal molds by hand and set the wick before it solidifies. The glitter is added in the last layer, which is why it is most visible on the surface and does not interfere with burning inside the candle. Small differences between pieces – a slight variation in color intensity, the shape of the base, the position of the hat – are part of handmade production, so every snowman turns out as an original.

We carefully keep the original of a roughly 130-year-old mold and cast some of our candles from its faithful copy. We pass on our methods and stick to hand casting, even though a large part of production could be automated.

Usage recommendations

Place the candle on a non-flammable surface, out of reach of children and pets, away from curtains and flammable decorations. Trim the wick to 5–7 mm before each lighting – this limits smoking and keeps the burn even for longer. A single burn should last no more than 2–3 hours – then put the candle out and let the wax set. Never leave a burning candle unattended.
