Candle Making for Two – an Experience Course for Couples and Friends

The candle-making experience course for 2 people takes place in the SVITSOL workshop at the farm in Královské Poříčí near Sokolov in the Karlovy Vary Region. The making takes 20 minutes. Each of you makes your own scented candle and chooses its shape and colour from what is on offer in the workshop. You work with wax and a cotton wick. We gift-wrap the finished candles and you take them home right after the course. You need no previous experience, and children aged 7 and up can manage the course too.

The course is open to the public. You can come as a couple, with a friend or with your child. The instructor guides you step by step, so you can ask anything you would like to know about candle making.

What the Course for 2 Costs and What Is Included

You will find the current price in our booking system exkurze.svitsol.cz. The course includes both candles you make, all materials, guidance from the instructor and gift wrapping. Parking right at the farm is free. On the same date, you can also add soap and salt making to your candle making and spend more time in the workshop.

How the Course Works

After a welcome, each of you chooses the shape and colour of your candle. The instructor shows you how to work with the wax, and you try it yourself straight away. While you work, we tell you what candles are made of and how we make them in our workshop. At the end, we gift-wrap the candles and you can also take home a keepsake photo.

Book your date only via our booking system exkurze.svitsol.cz, where you will find current prices and available dates. We recommend booking well in advance so that you can be sure the date is available. If you fall ill or the weather changes, we will move your date free of charge. Just let us know at least one day in advance.

Gift Voucher for the Candle-Making Course

You can buy a printed gift voucher in our e-shop – it can be redeemed in our gallery and workshop at the farm, also towards a course. The voucher makes a nice birthday or anniversary gift. It also works well as a Christmas present. Anyone who attends the course before Christmas can put their own candle straight under the tree. The recipients arrange the date themselves, whenever it suits them.

SVITSOL Craft

The SVITSOL brand was founded in 2004, so we have been making candles for 22 years. Today we make them by hand in the family workshop at the farm in Královské Poříčí. We work with paraffin wax, soy wax and beeswax, depending on the candle range. On the course you will see what this work looks like up close and try it yourself. As we like to say: "You take home more than a candle – you take home honest handwork and a piece of our story."

Caring for Your Candle

On the course, we will also show you how to care for your candle. Trim the wick to 5–7 mm before each lighting. Let the candle burn for no more than 2–3 hours at a time so that a full melt pool forms. The candle will then last longer and be safer to use at home.
