ASTRONAUT candle – icy brown glitter

Handmade candle, 7.5 cm tall and 4.5 cm in diameter, weighing 56 grams. Burn time 7–10 hours. Material: paraffin wax blend, cotton wick. Chocolate and vanilla fragrance. Made on the SVITSOL farm in Královské Poříčí in the Karlovy Vary Region.

ASTRONAUT belongs to our range of figural candles with a glittering surface in icy white–brown. We hand-pour every piece into the mould, clean the seams once it has cooled and decorate the surface with glitter. Small irregularities are part of handmade production – no two candles are ever exactly the same.

Fragrance and atmosphere

The scent profile is built on sweet dark chocolate with creamy vanilla. The fragrance is noticeable even unlit, and once lit it spreads through the room within about 20 minutes. It suits a living room, bedroom or dining room with a festive table. For a stronger effect, light two candles at the same time.

The icy glitter surface reflects the flame – in dim light it casts soft glints onto the walls and ceiling. By day the candle works as a decoration, in the evening as a source of light.

Who the ASTRONAUT is for

The candle is an unusual gift – for school-age children fascinated by space, for adult collectors of figural candles, as a small gesture with coffee, for a birthday or under the Christmas tree. Thanks to its compact size, it fits into a gift box as well as a travel bag.

It goes well with other pieces from our workshop – with pillar candles, Svitsolky tin candles or candle collections. On an Advent wreath or the Christmas Eve table, you can add Christmas candles.

How to use the candle

Before the first lighting, trim the wick to 5–7 mm. Place the candle on a level, non-flammable surface, away from draughts, curtains and flammable objects. Let it burn for 2–3 hours at a time – during this time an even melt pool forms across the whole diameter and the candle will not tunnel down the middle.

Never leave a burning candle unattended and keep it out of reach of children and pets. Trim the wick again after every burn – this extends the life of the candle and reduces soot.

SVITSOL craftsmanship

We make our candles in Královské Poříčí. For the ASTRONAUT we chose a paraffin wax blend that holds the figural shape well and carries the glitter decoration. Each piece passes through a craftsperson’s hands several times: pouring, cleaning, decorating, checking, packing.

Over more than twenty years we have tried out dozens of recipes and moulds. We know which combination of wax and wick burns cleanly, how to dose the fragrance so that the scent is not overpowering, and when it is better to let a candle rest before we send it out.
