Tree OLD Scented Candle 100 g – Purple Lavender, Handmade

The TREE OLD candle is 12 cm tall, 6 cm in diameter at its widest point and weighs 0.1 kg. It is cast from a premium paraffin wax blend and burns for 19–29 hours, depending on how warm and draughty the room is. The fragrance is lavender, the wick is cotton and the finish is icy white with a lilac tone and delicate glitter. The tree shape keeps its sharp edges even after several evenings of burning, because the wax melts towards the centre.

The lavender candle in the shape of a tree is one of the pieces that come back every autumn. The lavender scent is subtle, lingers in a medium-sized room and doesn't overpower food or other scents. That is why it suits the dining table as well as a windowsill or shelf.

How a Candle Like This Is Made

The SVITSOL brand has existed since 2004 – for more than twenty years we have been making candles by hand. The workshop is on a farmstead in Královské Poříčí near Sokolov in the Karlovy Vary Region. The lavender candle is made there in small batches: the wax is tempered and coloured, the fragrance is added and it is poured into a mould with a centred cotton wick. Then comes cooling, topping up the sunken centre, trimming the wick and checking every piece by hand. The glitter is applied only once the surface has cooled.

Small differences between pieces are normal – the shade may be slightly deeper, the glitter denser. With hand casting it can't be otherwise, and it is a hallmark, not a defect.

Where to Put the Candle and How to Light It

The tree looks its best on a non-flammable surface, away from draughts and curtains. Let the first burn last 2–3 hours – a wax pool forms across the whole diameter and the candle won't tunnel later. We don't recommend burning it for longer than three hours at a stretch. Trim the wick to about half a centimetre; it then burns more calmly and smokes less.

In Christmas decorations the tree works on its own or in a trio of different sizes. Outside December it is an everyday decoration for the living room, bedroom or bathroom – lavender is not a seasonal scent.
