Euphoria Scented Candles
A birthday table, a bathroom shelf after a long week, a window sill in December — the spot usually decides more than the shape does. Euphoria runs through every candle you see here, and on a good few of them it shares the wick with something else: Vanilla most often, but also Citronella, Orange, Green apple or Choco-coffee-cinnamon. So read the whole name before you settle on one. A pinecone with Euphoria alone and a pinecone with Euphoria and Vanilla are two different evenings.
Euphoria itself is built on blooming flowers, ripe fruit and a drop of amber. Where Vanilla joins it, you get creamy sweetness underneath. The wax is the same story throughout: a paraffin wax blend, whatever the outline. Angels, snowmen in top hats, an astronaut, pinecones small and large, pentagon pyramids, spiral trees, mistletoe trees, plain pillars, hand-shaped relief candles named ROSE, MARIE, LESUPAN, LOVE, Bakus and Picasso, and a mandala that arrives with its own stand.
Hours vary far more than the shapes suggest. Some of these give you an evening. One of them, a three-wicked relief piece, is rated in the hundreds. We make all of them by hand in Královské Poříčí, and there is a camera running in the workshop while the work happens, if you want to watch a batch being finished.
Which height suits your spot, and how many hours it gives you
Pick the hours first, then the outline. For a dinner where the candle should not outstay the food, ANGEL Candle – Icy Turquoise with Glitter, Vanilla & Euphoria weighs 0.05 Kg, stands 8.5 cm and is rated 6-12 hours. ASTRONAUT Candle – Icy Blue Glitter, Vanilla & Euphoria is shorter at 7.5 cm, 0.056 Kg, 7-10 hours. Snowman Top Hat Candle sits between them: 8 cm, 0.072 Kg, 8-15 hours.
Height tells you less than you would think. Four of these stand 12 cm and behave nothing alike:
- Candle Large Pinecone – handmade with gold-blue glitter effect: 3.5 cm bottom, 0.15 Kg, 18-35 hours.
- Spiral Tree turquoise: 7 cm across, 0.162 Kg, 18-24 hours.
- Candle Tree MISTLETOE – icy turquoise glitter, vanilla & euphoria: also 7 cm across, 0.169 Kg, but 18-36 hours.
- Medium Pillar Candle Euphoria: 0.2 Kg, 27-36 hours.
Where the candle is part of the table setting rather than lighting for one meal, Relief Candle MARIE gives 16 cm on a 4 cm width, 0.27 Kg, 28-39 hours; Relief Candle LESUPAN Blue takes the same 16 cm but a 9x5 cm footprint at 0.35 Kg, 29-39 hours. Then the big ones: Bakus Abundance at 22 cm and 8 cm wide, 0.8 Kg, 72-96 hours, and LOVE Candle Turquoise Yellow, twice that height at 40 cm on only 6 cm, 1 Kg, 45-96 hours. The extreme is Relief Candle Picasso with Three Wicks — 59 cm, 10 cm across, 4.4 Kg, rated 860-960 hours. Nothing else here comes close, and three wicks means you light all three or none.
Two want thinking about before the first match. Luxury Mandala Candle Water with Stand is 14 cm across at 0.27 Kg and 6-13 hours, and Pyramid Pearls Candle Glitter Icy Turquoise is 9 cm across at 8 cm high, 0.178 Kg, 8-13 hours. A face that broad has to melt right out to the rim on the opening burn, otherwise the flame sinks into a narrow shaft and stays there. Otherwise: trim before every lighting, flat fireproof surface underneath, away from any draught, and never left burning in an empty room or within reach of a child or a cat.
